The Best Branded Merch in a University Marketing Campaign Award will recognize a University for the use of Branded Merch in a marketing campaign to drive impact. This award is brought to you by the AMA and its founding sponsor, Promotional Products Association International (PPAI)!
In order for a University to be eligible for the Best Branded Merch in a University Marketing Campaign Award:
- Branded merch must have been produced and distributed within the last three (3) calendar years
- Branded merch must have made a significant impact on your University’s campus
Sustainable and environmentally friendly submissions are highly encouraged, and all nominees will be considered regardless of organization size and budget.

The Erin Anderson Award recognizes emerging female marketing scholars and mentors, while honoring and celebrating the life of Erin Anderson. Erin was a widely respected mentor and scholar whose research made significant contributions to the marketing discipline.
To honor Erin and support her passion for encouraging women in academe, the Erin Anderson Award recognizes a female marketing scholar we anticipate becoming a leading marketing academic in the mold of Erin Anderson.
Eligibility
Female marketing professors who received their marketing (or related field) doctoral degree in or after the 2015 calendar year may be nominated or self-nominate for the 2026 Award. The criteria for the award focus on what made Erin Anderson unique in the academic world:
- Research: The recipient should be a woman who is an emerging research star in her area of expertise, as evidenced by her publication record and the impact of those publications on marketing thought.
- Mentoring: The recipient should be someone who has exceeded the normal expectations for someone of her rank in mentoring doctoral students or junior faculty members.

AMAF acquired the Lee Epstein Scholarship from Marketing Edge, a former non-profit organization focused on preparing next-generation talent for thriving careers in marketing. This fund was established in honor of Lee Epstein, the founder of the non-profit Direct Marketers Gateway, Inc. and a lifelong supporter of integrated marketing educational programs.
AMAF is thrilled to further the legacy of Lee Epstein by offering the “Lee Epstein Scholarship Fund.” This scholarship aims to support talented undergraduate students with a passion for marketing in the tri-state area of New York, New Jersey and Connecticut.

Marketing professionals are as diverse as the consumer populations that they serve. An expansive pool of talent is essential for maximizing creativity, innovation, and synergies within the marketing profession. The Diversity Leadership Scholarship recognizes underrepresented students who demonstrate leadership in their chapter activities or in other areas of their lives.

1. Your activities on and off campus demonstrate “Leadership” qualities:
- You are an AMA student leader in terms of your role in leading chapter activities, initiatives, events, projects, or other aspects of your collegiate programming.

The Robert DeLay social impact scholarship program recognizes those students creating this positive change in the marketing profession and in the world. “Social impact” pertains to making a positive difference at the local, regional or larger community in terms of the environment, social justice, economic fairness, health conditions, quality of life or other social concern.
This Fund honors the legacy of Robert “Bob” Delay, former president of the Direct Marketing Association (DMA) and its predecessor organizations for more than 26 years and a DMA lifetime achievement award winner.

History
The Dr. Charles Stryker Scholarship Fund, Mike Buoncristiano Memorial Scholarship Fund and Jake Weisbarth Scholarship Fund were all established by Marketing Edge and acquired by the AMA in 2022. AMA combined these three funds to develop a new fund named “Stryker Buoncristiano Scholarship Fund.” The purpose of this scholarship is to support talented undergraduate students from diverse backgrounds and with broad skill sets who have a common desire to pursue a career in marketing. Diversity Leadership Institute (DLI) is a transformative program designed to empower undergraduate marketing students from historically underrepresented identities who are passionate about advancing diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility. Over the immersive four-day retreat, participants collaborate with their peers, faculty members, and industry leaders to address real-world DEIA challenges, reflect on the intersection of identity and leadership, and develop skills that will shape their future contributions to marketing.
The 2026 Diversity Leadership Institute will be hosted in partnership with the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign Gies College of Business in late June 2026 - exact dates to come.
In partnership with our academic host institution, the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign Gies College of Business, participants in DLI will:
- Gain foundational knowledge of the history and functions of marketing
- Gain knowledge of contemporary issues in marketing
- Participate in intergroup dialogue around issues of equity and social justice
- Collaborate with peers to research and present ethical solutions to current leadership issues in marketing
- Reflect on and articulate the influence of personal identities and histories on effective marketing leadership
- Engage in professional networking with marketing faculty and practitioners

This award aims to recognize a scholar who has published an article early in their career in an AMA Journal (Journal of Marketing, Journal of Marketing Research, Journal of International Marketing, Journal of Interactive Marketing, or Journal of Public Policy & Marketing). The selected article pushes boundaries and introduces novel theories and/or conceptual frames to better understand consumers, markets, and marketing actions.
Eligibility
The recognized article will either be directly based on the scholar’s dissertation or on research conducted and published by the scholar in the first five years after graduating with a Ph.D. in marketing (or related disciplines). The substantive domains of inquiry would be in areas that were heavily influenced by Professor Lusch’s work – marketing channels, retailing, service marketing, consumer culture theory, transformative consumer research, and innovation.
The scholar will also be evaluated based on their demonstration of contributions in other areas of scholarship and a tradition of service demonstrated by Robert Lusch to the discipline.

Students completing the requirements for their doctoral degrees in marketing and consumer behavior-related topics between October 1, 2024 and September 30, 2025 are invited to enter the annual John A. Howard/AMA Doctoral Award Competition.
Graduates from doctoral programs in any part of the world are invited to participate. The award is given annually at the AMA Winter Academic Conference.
A team of reviewers will be appointed by the award chairs to review the submissions. A double-blind review procedure will be followed to review the papers based on the following criteria:
- Importance of the research question/issue to marketing
- Conceptual rigor
- Methodological rigor and technical competence in the execution of the research
- Value of the findings in contributing to knowledge in marketing
- Value of the findings to marketing practitioners and other stakeholders
- Originality of the research

Nomination Process
Nominations are invited from individuals and marketing departments. The nominations should include:
- A letter (not to exceed four pages) summarizing the nominee’s research contributions, creative/innovative accomplishments, and AMA service/participation.
- A current curriculum vita for the nominee.
The AMA Fellows Committee will select the 2026 cohort from the nominations, which are due by October 24, 2025.
Carryover Policy: It is committee policy to evaluate a nominee up to three times—the year initially nominated and, if applicable, the subsequent two years. Thus, individuals nominated but not selected for 2026 will also be considered for 2027 and 2028.

The AMA-Irwin-McGraw-Hill Distinguished Marketing Educator Award honors living marketing educators for distinguished service and outstanding contributions in marketing education.
Eligibility
All Marketing educators who have made sustained contributions to marketing over an extended period of time are eligible. Such contributions should take a variety of forms and should not be limited to a single professional achievement such as research or administration.
Nominations are invited from individuals and marketing departments. The nominations must include:
- A letter (not to exceed four pages) summarizing the nominee’s creative accomplishments, public service, research, teaching, and service contributions to the marketing profession (please include a citation count from Web of Science and Google Scholar).
- A current curriculum vita for the nominee.
- In addition to the nomination letter, the nominator must submit a one-page summary of the nominee’s citations that includes: (1) total Web of Science citation count, (2) total Google Scholar count, and (3) a list of the nominee’s ten most-cited publications (based on Google Scholar), with both the Google Scholar and Web of Science citation count for each article, ideally with links to articles for ease of access.
Six criteria are considered when evaluating nominees for the award:
- General Creativity/Innovativeness
- Administrative Contributions
- Teaching and Mentoring
- Public Service
- Research Contributions
- Service to the Marketing Profession
